SUPER HIPPIE

Every day I grow closer to joining the commune.

While I am a total advocate for modern medicine, fully believe in vaccinations and check-ups, I have found myself slowly going down the slippery slope of hippiedom.

First, it was giving up the car and biking everywhere except when I need a car and I borrow one off the local car share.

Then it was going veggie/plant-like after my stomach started acting up with heavy fats and meats.

And then… then…

I went on a yoga retreat.

I know, I know, I own a chakra bracelet now, I know.

Since that day, approximately a month ago, I have started to support local businesses more than before.

Today, through some posts on Instragram I came upon a farmer’s market at a local distillery and… and…

I LEARNED ABOUT LOCAL WHEAT CROPS WHILE MY KID MADE BIRD FEEDERS TO SUPPORT THE LOCAL TOAD MIGRATION CHARITY.

Honestly, I don’t know what’s come over me.

Maybe it’s because the local burger joint is now doing buffalo cauliflower.

Maybe it’s my refillable coffee mug that gets me an additional discount to feed my almond milk problem.

Maybe… maybe it’s nice to sometimes know the people I buy from most of the time.

All I know is I’m a far cry from the multilane highways of the city and up to my wellies in fenland.

And… and…

I might just like it.
